Shortbus Response
(for JCM)

So poignant, so sweet,
fragile & human
We yearn to love
to be real in recursive
delight
Pushing, pulling, exploding
tears & laughter
physical, immediate,
spontaneous
emerging from buried shadows
So simple, so hard, so basic
vulnerability
easier to grow from love
than loneliness
Does peace begin here?
Where we dare lower jealous arms
to embrace in full emotion?

Beautiful rhythm to this, expresses the pushing and pulling....

understand the question being asked initially....the purity of impulse, to love....

then you move into a declaration about vulnerability being easier to grow from love than lonliness

I'd not necessarily concur with this sentiment....

vulnerabilty can just as easily be grown from lonliness.....

Neither way is necessarily patently easier than the other,

I'd say the difference is more a matter of

the kind of vulnerability that emerges from taking the risk to love and engage

is more immediate in it's effect if the risk taken (expressing love whole heartedly)
is not reciprocated to in a way that is felt or understood.

Can you please expound on the last two lines also.....am not quite sure how to interpret....

Do you mean non-possessiveness leads to full emotion and thus peace?

I think it would be a good idea to put your poems into visual form, through video.

Have you experimented with this as yet?
